Tax Sale Information

To be a bidder, you must be a Missouri State Resident and you will be the one purchasing any property in the Tax Sale and your name will appear on the Certificate of Purchase and Collector's Deed.

If you are purchasing on behalf of a company, corporation, lending institution or other organization, you must provide proper documentation authorizing you to act on their behalf.

After purchasing a property, if you want to transfer ownership you will need to fill out the middle section of the Recorded Certificate of Purchase* and sign it in front of a Notary.

Transferring of ownership does not apply to a purchase made on behalf of a non-resident.

*Recorded Certificate of Purchase is retained by the Collector's Office. You must contact our office to make a change of ownership on the Certificate of Purchase. The Certificate of Purchase that you receive in September, printed on blue paper, is for your records only.
